AT THE SPEEDWAY

Here are some useful tips to help you stay comfortable, prepared, and ready to enjoy your race weekend at Kansas Speedway:

Food and drink

Fans are allowed to bring their own food and beverages to the AdventHealth 400, making it easy to save money and enjoy their favourite snacks. If you prefer to travel light, the Speedway offers a wide selection of options, including burgers, barbecue, pizza, fries, soft drinks, and beer.

Outside food is generally permitted, but it’s always worth checking the official guidelines before attending. Large coolers and glass containers are not allowed, so pack light and keep items easy to carry. All bags are subject to security screening at the entrances, so allow a little extra time when arriving.

Communication

Before heading to the circuit, it’s wise to download or save important information such as your tickets, maps, and the event schedule. Mobile networks can become congested during busy race weekends, especially on race day. If you’re attending in a group, agree on a meeting point in advance in case you get separated.

Noise

Kansas Speedway’s high-speed 1.5-mile tri-oval creates an intense atmosphere, especially when the NASCAR Cup Series cars are running at full pace. Noise levels can be very high, so ear protection is recommended for all visitors, and is particularly important for children.

Taxi and rideshare drop-off/pick-up

Taxis and rideshare services such as Uber, Lyft, and zTrip operate from the Transportation Plaza, located south of the grandstands near Gate C. This is the designated area for both drop-off and pick-up.

Weather

In April, Kansas City typically experiences mild spring conditions, though the weather can be changeable. Daytime temperatures usually range between 60–75°F (16–24°C), while mornings and evenings can feel cooler. There is also a higher chance of rain compared to late summer, so bringing a light waterproof jacket or poncho is recommended.

Layered clothing works best, allowing you to adjust throughout the day. Don’t forget essentials such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and a cap, as the sun can still be strong. Staying hydrated is important, so make use of the water you bring or refill stations around the venue. For the latest forecast during race weekend, check a reliable source such as the Windy app.
